September 26, 1988 - Let's get those tickets

After dinner, Dad and I headed towards the Via Rail train station in Moncton. We brought the camera with us so that I could take a few pictures while I was there. This was pretty exciting as I had not really had many opportunities to take pictures before that time. Unlike today, all cameras used films and you had to make each shot count. Dad's camera was a Kodak Instamatic 110.

After picking up the tickets, Dad let me take pictures around the station. It's interesting looking back at the pictures that I took that day. I can still remember a lot of the details that were not in the pictures. Details such as how the station was laid out or some of the rail cars sitting on various sidings in the immediate area. I was completely enthralled with was I had discovered. Since I did have to make each shot count, I completely emptied the roll of film. Hey, I was thirteen with technology in my hands.

Here are some of the shots that I took that day:

With camera empty and tickets in hand, we headed home. I could hardly wait until Saturday morning for our trip. Let's just say that my focus for the rest of the week was not on school work.
